If you`ve seen any of our previous blogs you`ll know we do a bit of touring in our Caterham 7. It all started off with some UK touring, France in 2004, USA in 2005 and France again in 2006. We had planned for 2007 to be a somewhat quieter year although we are planning to attend the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Lotus 7 in September. So I started thinking about a low cost UK tour, catching up with some friends and taking in a lot of the UK tourist sites we`ve been meaning to go and see for years. Add to that my longstanding desire to drive from John O`Groats to Lands End and suddenly we have the making of a cracking driving holiday. The basis for the route is to travle up to John O`Groats and then work south, stopping off at the anniversary celebrations in Norfolk before continuing to Lands End, then returning via Wales back to Northern Ireland. Driving a Caterham 7 I want to avoid the motorways as much as possible and so I`ve also been trying to incorporate some of the best driving roads in the UK into this trip. At this stage we anticipate the trip being 3 weeks long in order to give us time to see all the things we want to see.
